CONTE GETTING CLOSE TO TOTTENHAM JOB

Antonio Conte has continued to be heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer as the London club continue their quest to replace José Mourinho. Tottenham owner Daniel Levy has identified the Italian manager as the right man for the job and is not interested in keeping hold of Ryan Mason, the current temporary manager at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

Conte is currently out of job after leaving Inter Milan some weeks ago despite guiding the Italian Serie A giants to their first league title in a long time. It was reported that the manager wanted some funds from the club’s board as he wished to sign more players at the club in a bid to fight for more trophies next season, but he was told that he will not be getting all that he requested for and it led to a breakdown in contract talks and his eventual resignation as well.

Jose Mourinho reacts to Manchester United’s stalemate versus Crystal Palace

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho had said that his team lacked the intensity in their game play which contributed to a frustrating 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace in the Premier League. The Red Devils had come into the game with the hope of going through an extended winning run but they were left frustrated by a Palace side which defended efficiently throughout the game.

Speaking after the encounter, Mourinho admitted his disappointment over the result saying: “Frustrating. The objective was to start well this period of eight matches until December. We did not win one point, we lost two. We knew where they close down and knew where the spaces were, we did not have enough aggression or intensity to kill. We gave the opponent time to have the ball and did not press enough. We gave them moments to breath, relax and for the time to go. We did not press enough.”
