CONTE GETTING CLOSE TO TOTTENHAM JOB

Antonio Conte has continued to be heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer as the London club continue their quest to replace José Mourinho. Tottenham owner Daniel Levy has identified the Italian manager as the right man for the job and is not interested in keeping hold of Ryan Mason, the current temporary manager at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

Conte is currently out of job after leaving Inter Milan some weeks ago despite guiding the Italian Serie A giants to their first league title in a long time. It was reported that the manager wanted some funds from the club’s board as he wished to sign more players at the club in a bid to fight for more trophies next season, but he was told that he will not be getting all that he requested for and it led to a breakdown in contract talks and his eventual resignation as well.

Levy has reportedly told Conte that he will do everything to keep striker Harry Kane who has already made his desire of leaving the club known to the general public. Conte is believed to be the manager capable of restructuring and reforming Tottenham with his brilliant managerial skills and Levy sees him as the man that can then the club into one that fights for titles as well.

The decision of Kane to leave Spurs could be a huge factor in depending whether or not Conte accepts the offer and he is expected to request adequate transfer funds from the club’s board so he can sign an ideal replacement in case the striker does leave the club in the coming summer transfer window.

Levy wants to wrap up the vacant managerial position very soon so he and the new manager can start sorting likely transfers as soon as possible.
