Manchester United have been an excellent run of form in the last two months

Manchester United have been an excellent run of form in the last two months after suffering just one defeat – against Southampton at home – during this period.

This form has seen them maintain their fight for a top four spot, although the possibility of winning the title looks to be beyond them. Even though the team has been achieving results, United have been criticised for their poor style of play. West Ham manager Sam Allardyce was quite open with the criticism, as he blamed United for the long ball tactics that led to a 1-1 draw between the two clubs recently.

United have been regarded as one of the most attractive teams to watch in England. This is after years of playing attacking football under the stewardship of Sir Alex Ferguson. Due to certain limitations in defence, Van Gaal has had to adopt a different set of tactics. He is also thought to be unhappy with the striker’s in the squad. This has led to the club playing a different style of football and defender Jonny Evans has admitted for the first time that the club need to improve a lot if they are to begin their past status. United have been defeated only once in the last 19 matches of all competitions. Continue reading →

Chelsea ahead of Manchester City

Chelsea is 2 points ahead of their nearest rivals Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title which is actually surprising as Chelsea began to drop points in their last match of 2014 when they faced off with Southampton had to settle with a 1-1 draw and a few days later in their opening match of the year, Jose Mourinho’s team lost against Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite these setbacks that Chelsea recently sustained, they still remain at the top of the English League as Manchester City also dropped a few points and Manuel Pellegrini’s side could not manage to fully capitalize on the mistakes of their opponents who are making a serious charge and statement to become the new champions of England. Leicester City 4th Defeat in Premier League

Leicester City sustained their 4th successive Premier League defeat after losing against Southampton and this result keeps the team of Nigel Pearson in the relegation zone of the English League and this series of negative results have sparked a series of rumors that claimed that the future of the coach Nigel Pearson might be at risk but Pearson says that all of these rumors are ludicrous.

“I find it quite irritating that every time we have a setback it’s always about a manager’s position. It’s ludicrous really but that’s the industry we work in.”

Nigel Pearson and his squad of Leicester City managed to win the previous season of the English Championship League without much difficulty as they collected a total of 102 points and their closest opponents only managed on securing 93 points, it was a superb campaign for Leicester City as they just ran past everyone and everything in their path but things have turned extremely difficult for them after getting promoted to the Premier League and the team of Nigel Pearson are now struggling just to avoid the relegation zone.

Leicester City’s Nigel Pearson revealed details concerning the current situation of his squad of players as he told the media: “People don’t realize the difference in quality at this level. We have good players. But our difficult run continues. We showed a lot of commitment but the quality of our opponents put paid to us getting something from the game.We are a side who are used to winning games, but we are finding it hard to get something and that is something that has to change pretty quickly’’

One of the factors that seems to be struggling most Leicester City in this season is their lack of scoring goals as they have only managed to score 11 goals in 11 matches, it’s one of the worst goal-scoring records out of all the teams in the Premier League and Nigel Pearson has already expressed his desire to try and solve this problem by signing a reliable attacking player.

Arsenal’s Joel Campbell is one of the targets of Nigel Pearson and Leicester City. Campbell is unhappy with his current situation with Arsenal as he is consistently being loaned out to a number of different clubs and Campbell does not play a very important role in the team of Arsene Wenger, this can allow Leicester City or another club on signing the 22 year old Costa Rican forward who made a superb series of performances for his country during the 2014 World Cup.
