One Legged Keeper

After the game, on my way home, and, more points dropped
Mind you, when we equalised, my heart nearly stopped
Who’d have thought, that, a keeper with one good leg
Could score that goal, whilst, to any god we’d beg
Please can we, get out of this match, with something to show
We’re fed up, of the ridicule, and, stick, wherever we go
So it’s just nice, for once, to come home with a point
And, not having our noses, or anything else, put out of joint
At last, we can hold our heads up, with all the fans of, others
And, for once, not have to go, crying home to our mothers
So let’s hear a cheer, for all the teams that, struggle every week
And, for their fans, who are not, so exasperatingly meek
To follow a team, through thin and thinner, takes a lot of nerve
So cheer these people on, as, they show us their verve
