Play The Game With a Round Ball
In writing all these poems were men play with round balls
It is all about playing and not the trips and falls
Two teams going at each other like there’s no tomorrows left
First one side then the other trying to fill the cleft
The chasm in ability between the sides on show
Knowing only that when playing it’s really what you know
So the games that you take part in showing that you can
Hold your head so very high along with any man
So let’s hear it for this national game and the way you play
Because in the team you’re playing for there’ll be another day
