Awaiting the Game
I’m sat here now, my mind agog, and, racing
My heart is pounding, and, palpitating
Just having to wait, for kick off time
I’m sat, and, thinking, my life’s not mine
For weeks on end, this game’s been coming
And, I’ve waited patiently, just humming
Now we’re so close, my body is shaking
I try to do things, but my whole is quaking
Getting ready, it’s coming, so close now
A few more minutes, to start, holy cow
Now it’s arrived, to some, anticlimax
All, I want to do now, is, open some snacks
And, watch all the game, that I’ve waited for
But I now need the toilet, please, nobody score
